Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre has been providing excellence in Health Care for more than two decades in terms of patient care, medical research and teaching. Its hospitals are well-known for their highly trained team of physicians, nurses, faculty and staff specializing in 42 medical and surgical specialties and sub-specialties.
Provision of comprehensive medical care at all super-specialty and tertiary levels, meticulous training of physicians and nurses and a strong commitment for continuous research for finding new cures, all under one roof, was once a vision of Chaudhary Aishi Ram Batra. He had invested his faith and resources to bring world-class healthcare to reach the common man when he established Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre in 1987 under the aegis of Chaudhary Aishi Ram Batra Public Charitable Trust.
The hospital comprises of 495 beds, 14 Operation Theatres, 112 ICU Beds, 24×7 Emergency facilities, full range of state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratories and a comprehensive rehabilitation facilities, designed in accordance with international norms.
Batra Hospital has also been accredited by National Board of Examination for conducting Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in various Post-Doctoral fellowships across various departments in the Hospital.
Today, Batra caters to International Patients from the Middle East, Europe, Africa & the US in our various super specialty departments. Batra Hospital has plans to expand its current facility and build 550 new beds by 2011 making it one of the largest private sectors hospitals in Asia. The Hospital was also awarded the President of India’s Award in 2009 for being the most Energy Efficient Hospital in India.

AcharyaShriChander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital (ASCOMS) was founded in 1996 under a Charitable Trust to support medical education and research and thus set exemplary standards of excellence in patient care. ASCOMS is a 600 bed super-specialty Hospital & Medical College located in Jammu (J&K).
From the institution’s beginnings in 1996, ASCOM’S senior faculty have understood that besides formal education, students and young physicians should engage in informal practice-based learning that encourages reflection upon their experiences and that is aimed at helping them identify and pursue their learning needs supported by appropriate feedback from the veteran physicians whose intellect and expertise provides the best means of fighting disease.
Instead of totally relying on curriculum-based approach that lays emphasis on following already established competencies and their outcomes, our faculty believes that to best understand a disease, our medical students and student-physicians must also relate to the patients who are suffering and should continue to look for better and newer treatments. It is a relevant and most critical aspect of medical science and it’s what defines medical education at ASCOMS.
